Jamie Leonhart: Music
After the Rain

Jamie Leonhart/Michael Leonhart (based on a poem by N. Bleiberg)
After the rain finished - we watched the birds
We watched the birds find each other
After the rain stopped, in layers thinning
Until the rush of the water was reduced to
The dripping from the rooftops and the leaves
I made a list of things I was mad about
And felt the weight of it as a bird called out
Everything ends in sadness
All of it rushing down to us
Everything ends in sadness
My mind manufacturing aloneness
All of it rushing, All of it slipping away
After the rain
After the rain
After the rain stopped,
You took two of my fingers in your hand
The weight lifted quietly from me; and that list, I just lost my list
That list I was mad about
Stopped corresponding as a bird called out
Everything end in sadness
All of it rushing down to us
Everything end in sadness?
My mind manufacturing aloneness
All of it rushing, all of it slipping away
After the rain
Everything ends in sadness
All of it rushing down to us
Everything ends in sadness
You walked out there with my fingers in your hand
For me to call back out to you
I’m calling…I’m calling
After the rain
